Pre-monsoon heat (28-31°C) builds from March through May, reaching its peak in May. Hot and increasingly humid. The city is busy with normal life but tourist numbers are low.
The monsoon (June-September) transforms Mumbai with dramatic rain. June through August sees the heaviest downpours — streets flood, but the city carries on. Ganesh Chaturthi in August/September is unmissable.
October marks the end of monsoon with clearing skies and Diwali celebrations. November brings pleasant weather (28°C) and the start of tourist season. The city sparkles during Diwali.
The best season (25-28°C) with dry conditions, comfortable humidity, and pleasant evenings. The Gateway of India and Marine Drive are at their most enjoyable. Cultural festival season.
