Cherry blossom season (late March to mid-April) is Japan's most iconic travel experience. Temperatures rise from 10°C to 20°C. The entire city gathers for hanami picnics under pink canopies.
Hot and humid (23-28°C) with a rainy season (tsuyu) in June-July. August brings intense heat but spectacular fireworks festivals. Air-conditioned museums and department stores offer relief.
October and November deliver stunning autumn foliage (koyo) across the city. Temperatures cool to 13-19°C, and the air clears for views of Mount Fuji. Comfortable for walking and temple visits.
Cold but dry (6-8°C) with clear skies. New Year celebrations are culturally significant. Winter illuminations transform neighborhoods. Fewer tourists than spring/fall.
